5 Days Prior to the Game
Check GotSport in Team Management, confirm Day, Time, & Opponent. If anything conflicts with what you have in TeamSnap, correct Teamsnap. GotSport is the authorities source.
Reach out to the opposing coaching staff via GotSport Game Chat I find it best to be the first to reach out home or away. Doing so in GotSport keeps a conversation record in case the league ever has to get involved.
If you are the Away team, confirm field location and tell them what color you would be wearing to the game. I like to also ask question pertaining to facilities.
Example Text: Coach, we are looking forward to our game with you on Saturday. Can you please confirm the location and field our game will take place, and which side of the field is for teams. We will be wearing our Blue kit. If you need to reach out to me on game day here is my phone number XXX-XXX-XXXX.
If you are the Home team, confirm field location and ask them what color they will be wearing to the game. Offer any additional info that may be helpful.
Example Text: Coach, we are looking forward to our game with you on Saturday. We will be playing on our 11v11 field which is located at 2215 Township Line Road, Logan Township, NJ 08085. If you park on the left side of the parking lot you can follow the path next to the tennis courts to our field. Please ask parents not to park on the field side of the tan maintenance building as that is for emergency vehicles only. Can you confirm what color uniform your team will be wearing. If you need to reach out to me on game day here is my phone number XXX-XXX-XXXX.
1-2 Days Prior to Game
Recheck game time and location. Print your game day roster.
Game Day
Make sure you have everything you need for the game. Ref fee money, player/coach passes, game day roster printed, ice packs, etc.
Home Games
If you are the 1st team of the day on your field put out the corner flags. If you need a team bench there are some in the shed. Make sure nets are in the proper place and that sandbags are on.
After the game make sure all trash is picked up. If you are the final team on the field return the corner flags to the shed. Here is the current configuration for travel fields.
After the Match
Make game notes that may be helpful to your team trainer and contact them with anything you feel needs to be targeted at training.
If there were any injuries, no matter how minor, report it to the board. board@logansoccerclub.com
